Over the last several years there have been significant strides within the pharmaceutical industry to bring medicines to patients faster, on the premise that the quicker we can get a therapy on the market the better chance the patient has at winning their health battle. Bringing a patient centric focus into the accelerated strategies ensures that not only is the medicine being delivered faster, but what is being delivered best serves the patient it is treating. There are multiple areas within the drug product development process where patient centricity can be considered and this symposium aims to explore strategies where a patient centric focus has been applied to drug product development. It will include a highlight of strategies for stakeholder alignment on quality target product profile during drug product development, drug product design options as they relate to patient preferences and patient adherence, and stability and design considerations based on intended market (i.e. considering temperature allowances for ROW countries).
Learning Objectives:
upon completion, participant will be able to describe key stakeholders in drug product development decisions through product lifecycle
Upon completion, participant will be able to relate patient centricity to key areas of consideration in drug product development
Upon completion, participant will be able to understand the balance of technical vs administration challenges
