Grace Cai, PhD, is a Principal Scientist at Physical Sciences Inc. She earned her BA in Physics from Mount Holyoke College in 2018 and a PhD in Applied Physics from the University of Michigan in 2023. Dr. Cai is a biophysicist with over six years of experience in 2D and 3D cell culture, biomaterials, and confocal microscopy. Her doctoral research focused on cell migration and behavior across multiple scales, including single cells, 2D and 3D cultures, and suspension cells. At Physical Sciences Inc., Dr. Cai has contributed to various R&D projects, including the development of an optical redox probe. She played a key role in bioreactor testing of a two-photon excitation redox sensor, evaluating an in-line cytometry probe with yeast cultures and mammalian CHO and HEK293 cells. She also collaborated with academic partners at Northeastern University, University of Massachusetts Lowell, and Clemson University to assess the sensor’s performance in in-line bioreactor processing experiments.
