Mitra Mosharraf, Ph.D., M.B.A. (she/her/hers)

Dr. Mosharraf is a biopharmaceutical scientist and industry leader with over 24 years of experience in biologics, nanomedicine, and formulation development. She has contributed to major innovations at Pharmacia, Pfizer, Santen, and HTD Biosystems, specializing in complex biologic modalities, including high-concentration protein formulations, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and liposomal drug delivery systems. Her expertise in Design of Experiments (DoE) has played a pivotal role in optimizing biologics formulations for enhanced stability, efficacy, and manufacturability.
Currently, as Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President at HTD Biosystems, she oversees R&D and product development, supporting over 200 clients in drug formulation and delivery. Her contributions include six granted patents, numerous publications, and leadership in the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), where she serves as the 2025 Chair of the AAPS Nanotechnology Community.
With a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Uppsala University and an MBA from MIT Sloan, Dr. Mosharraf combines scientific innovation with strategic leadership. In this talk, she will share insights on how DoE can accelerate formulation development for complex biologics, leveraging her extensive experience in protein formulation development.
