Associate Principal Scientist

Dr. Jordan Berger is a passionate young vaccine scientist dedicated to improving global health through innovative research and development in immunization. Hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jordan showed an early interest in biology and the sciences, often conducting experiments in his family's kitchen (non-sterile, of course). He completed his undergraduate chemical engineering studies at Bucknell University, and finished his PhD at the University of Delaware, where he conducted research on conformational and colloidal stability of proteins.
Driven by a desire to make a significant impact on public health, Jordan joined the Vaccine Drug Product Development group at Merck ~3 years ago. His research has focused on methods to accelerate development of novel vaccine platforms that enhance immune responses against emerging infectious diseases. Jordan's work at Merck has been published, and he has presented his findings at multiple conferences.
In addition to his research, Jordan is an advocate for global health initiatives. He has volunteered with organizations such as Jubilee House Community, where he worked to build and supply health clinics in rural Nicaragua. Outside of his scientific work, Jordan enjoys visiting museums, building Lego sets, mini-golf, and hikes on less-traveled trails.
