Sagar Kandel, B.S. (Candidate), Research Assistant, Department of Engineering and Technology, Southeast Missouri State University
Sagar Kandel is an undergraduate researcher and Biomedical Science major at Southeast Missouri State University, where he also serves as a Research Assistant for an NSF-funded nanobioengineering project. His research focuses on endothelial cell regeneration using magnetic nanoparticles, light therapy, and nano substrates such as collagen and laminin. Sagar has extensive experience culturing HUVEC cells, synthesizing and characterizing nanoparticles, and conducting fluorescence microscopy analysis. His honors thesis explores the combined effects of magnetic nanoparticles, red/blue light exposure, and nano substrates on HUVEC regeneration, and he was awarded first prize for his poster presentation showcasing this work. His long-term goal is to pursue a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering focusing on nanotechnology, regenerative medicine, and drug delivery systems.
